There has been a tremendous push to get more out of your time watching TV.  One of those things is the streaming set top box.  There are several versions available including some you have heard of and some you haven’t such as Apple TV, Roku, Boxee, Vudu and Western Digital TV.  Many people thought you had to connect a computer to your big screen TV but these small boxes allow you to stream movies and do some internet tasks.  Will these boxes catch on?  Would people rather just use their cable on-demand or continue to rent from Blockbuster and Redbox?  Why is this a great idea?  Why would it be a bad idea? Who are these marketed towards? EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWERS!  (Must be at least  5 COMPLETE sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)

I guess but its not the greatest ideal i have heard of. I think everything should just stay the same in that situation, well i guess its okay for a few inventions but i don’t no.

Naw! this won’t catch on. If you need to get on the internet then you can get on before or after you watch a movie. that is spending unnecessary money, I would rather go down the street to the Redbox, its so much more easier.

Yes i think this will catch on very fast. I think that people would rather chose to buy this new item because they don’t really want to go pay just to rent a movie. the people might just chose the boxes then to go rent the movies. This is a good idea because with this they don’t even have to go to blockbuster to rent a movie. This might also be a bad idea because this is technology this can mess up then you would think that you have wasted your money on something that just came to mess up a little bit of time later. I think that this goes toward the people who don’t like3 spending money on rented movies, people who like downloading movies and other stuff through the internet.

No,because you still have to pay money for the movies.I think they will stay with cable on-demand,and red box even know you still have to pay money for it but red box and cable on-demand.Because there is no reason for you to buy some new video thing and you still have to pay money for your 2 movies thing that you are watching.Because people just don’t want to use money up and buy something that they kinda already have. It’s going to people who want to try to use it and buy it.

I think that it is something that will eventually catch on. I think its a good idea because some people like trying new things, and this is something new and not usual. But i still think that some people might want to just stick to there on-demand and Redbox movies. But there is also others that would like to have one of these because it might seem easier to them. People who enjoy experiencing technology will probably start using this device.

I think its a good idea because you don’t have to get out of your way to rent a movie. It’s just like the xbox or the ps3, you can rent or even stream netflix from them. So for people who dont feel good or don’t even want to leave their house you can use the cable box to rent a movie.

Yes eventually they will catch on. But it’s going to be a while because a lot of people stick with blockbuster and red box. Same with cable and on-demand. It would be a bad idea because some things shouldn’t be added together. It could mess your TV up because of viruses and stuff. It’s marketed towards the TV company’s and TV company’s.

I knew that you were able to hook up your laptop to an cable box for a while now.
The thing is why would people stay with Blockbuster and Redbox when you have the Cable on demand thing? Its pretty much the same thing, You order a movie and you have to pay for it. I can’t see why you would want to rent a movie anyways. Now here are some differences with cable on demand and when your renting a movie, If you order a movie on demand, You can watch half the movie and come back to it, you also don’t have to worry about a late fee. When you rent a movie, you only have a certain amount of time before you have to return it. If you keep the movie or turn it in late, you have an Late due fee. I think that on-demand will most likely be the most popular.

See it can catch on. I see that some of my favorite channels have been moved to on-demand type of cable like G4 and MTV2. If this keeps happening, then there will be more sells of them. I wouldn’t like to rent from Blockbuster but Redbox is cheap for one night only. Movies from Blockbuster you might just watch one time. That is waste. The on-demand movies and Redbox sell for one night and a little cheaper. Redbox is $1.00 though so that’s better.

I think this is a good idea. Because you can sit on your couch and get on the internet without leaving the television. It is really cool because you get to experience awesome tech. You get to enjoy the comfort of your living room and not have to get up to get on the computer to care of things. I think it is marketed to the people who want to experience new technology.

I do think that they might like it sense they don’t want to get up and get it they might love that they can get it from the TV. Butttt maybe it would cost to much and the economy is bad.
