Building a paper ariplane, step 1

ORQ Question

During a technology class, Eric was asked to design and make his own paper airplane from a single sheet of paper.  After making his paper airplane, Eric was asked to record how he made it so that another student could make the same type of airplane following the same design.

A.)  Identify two different methods using technology that Eric could use to record HOW he made his paper airplane so that another student could make the same type of airplane.

B.)  Explain how each method you described in part (A) will help another student make the same type of airplane following the same design.

(You MUST give me fully thought out sentences and use the A.C.T. method-no short answers or text message language.)

    A.) 1. I WOULD USE THE GOOGLE VIDEO CHAT THING SO THAT THE PERSON WOULD BE WATCHING ME DOING EACH AND EVERY STEP.
    2. I WOULD USE MYY CAMCORDER TO RECORD ME MAKING THE PAPER AIRPLANE AND OUT THE TAPE ON YOUTUBE.

    B.)THESE TWO THINGS WOULD HELP BECAUSE THEYY WOULD BE SHOWING YOU EVERY SINGLE STEPP. AND IF YOU NEED TO SEE IT AGAIN JUS REWIND THE VIDEO BSCK SND THEN WATCH IT AGAIN!

    A) the two methods are, one he can record it on a camera, or he can say how to make it and he can talk into a recorder to record his voice of how to make this paper airplane.

    B) how these methods could help could help you are, one the camera the other student can just watch the video and learn how to make the paper airplane.
    in number two , he can just re listen to the tape that the other student has made on how to make this project actually happen. so the other students can now know or learn how to make a paper airplane.

    A.) Eric could write out all the ways he folded the paper or he could show how he made it in person.
    B.) The first method could show people the way he folded it and the second method could show them how he made it.

    A. 2 methods of using technology is using a video camera and a computer.

    B. Video Camera- when you use a video camera, you can video step by step of what your doing so that the next person can follow those easy steps to make their airplane. if you do the airplane step by step, then other people can just look at the tape and follow along with what your doing.

    computer- if you use a computer than you could jst explain step by step in a letter, or if your more advanced with technology than you could use scanners and scan over the airplane with every step you take so it can make a 3-d figure of each step and you could see what it looks like.

    A. He could do it by making a video by how he did it and the sides benign even as they could be and he could do a power point or type a step by step information page on what to do how to do it and the folding and how to make it fly so good and stuff.

    B. A video would help a student because you can watch what hes doing and how he does it. A paper would help because your going to be reading the paper as your making the plane and it would be easier because the steps are on the paper and the only thing you have to do is to read how he made it and you have an airplane just like his.

    A) Two different methods of technology are you could make a video of it and put it on a website or you can do a power point on it.

    B) You can make a video of you making the paper plane step by step so that people could just watch the video on what ever website you posted it on so that way they can do it without him being there. You can do a power point and just type some directions on how to make it and he can present it in class so everyone would know how to do it and they can tell everybody else how to do it.

    B)Then whoever wants to watch the video to make a paper airplane they can and then the child can watch they slide show step by step and know how to make a paper airplane

    A. One method using technology to show another student how to make a paper airplane, so that another student could make one is to get a camcorder. Another method using technology to show another student how to make a paper airplane so that another student could make one is to use Microsoft Office Power point 2003.

    B. The first method would be good to use because you could record a tape for the student showing them exactly what you did to make the paper airplane. The second method is good to use because you would have a slide show that gives pictures and explains very clearly the steps to making the paper airplane.

    A). Two different methods using technology that Eric could use to record how he made his paper airplane so that another student could make the exact same airplane is he could record it on his camera, or phone, and either send it to him or show it to him so he can do it step by step the same way that Eric did his. Another way is that he could take little clips (step by step) of how he makes the airplane, make a slide show, and put each little clip on each slide to show step by step. He can also type the steps on the slide show, but by him recording it, it shows the other student how he does it.

    B). These steps can help him because if Eric recorded a video of him making the paper airplane, The other student can make his paper airplane exactly like Eric’s as hes doing his. He will be able to follow the steps that are on the video & if he misses a step, he would be able to rewind it and watch it again. If Eric recorded clips of each step and put them in a slide show presentation & even wrote down and explained the steps on the slide show, then this would be helpful because, it is explaining the steps to take, and it even has a video of that step just in case he gets a little lost. (=

If Eric would of used the Video Camera he could of record his self creating the paper plane while giving instructions while in the same process.If Eric would of used the online Instructions guide which is using the computer he could of type up the list of items that he used then put the steps of what he did in sequence order to so others his work.

    A: 1. Eric could record how he made his paper airplane by video taping himself with a camera while he was making it, then edit the video on his computer to break it down into simple steps. He could either put them on a DVD to bring into his class or upload it to a website like http://www.YouTube.com. I learned how to make rings out of old buttons when I watched a video on YouTube. I donated a bunch of them to a shop called Hosparus so they could sell them to raise money for Hospice of Southern Indiana.
    2. Eric could also write a step-by-step tutorial showing how to make his paper airplane and then publish it online. I’ve learned many things from online tutorials, like how to make all-natural cosmetics, and how to make Diet Coke explode when you drop a few Mentos in. That’s really fun!

    B: 1. If Eric records a video showing how to make his paper airplane design, the other students could watch it and see how to make it. If he writes a tutorial and publishes it online, especially one with pictures for each step, the other students could read that tutorial and learn how to make it. They could also see what it should look like when it’s finished by looking at the pictures.

    A) 1.Eric could have show the other student how to make a paper airplane. He could make a design on the computer. It can show all of the steps on how to make his paper airplane. Make shower that he is fallowing the right steps to making the design. help him/her with all of the steps. .2.)Eric can draw the airplane design on a computer so he can see all steps on how to make your paper airplane design.

    B)If Eric can help the other student fallow all the steps. Or he can show the other student a video of the paper airplane design.

    A. I would leave a picture with the instructions on it or I would leave a sideshow with the instructions for that step and a photograph on what that step should look like.

    B. It would help them because the step is in organized detail.

    A) I would give them a piece of paper and do 1 step for them then they could do the rest and if they got it wrong then i would show them how 2 do that step
    Then i would put the instructions on a piece of paper.

    B) All they had 2 do is fallow the piece of paper that i gave them or the person i showed showed another person and keep going

    A.)He can use a powerpoint to show how to make a paper airplane. Also he can use microsoft word to show the directions.

    B.)He can use a powerpoint by puting the directions on different slides. Also he can include pictures to show what it/he means. He can use microsoft word by numbering the direction, inserting illustrations, and having bold letters so the title will stand out.

    A) Two methods that i can tell Eric to go to make a paper airplane is to go to Google.com, and he can go to you tube.com to see a video. He can go to Google.com to find information about making a paper air plane.

    B) Well i messed up i said it on part A but I’m going to say it again he could go to you tube to see a video on how that person made his then he could do it the same way. Then he can also go to Google to find some information about making a paper air plane and follow the instructions provided in the paragraph.

    B. a power point would help by giving each step a chance to explain how it is done. the note book you could type the instructions with out a visual and a painting on the computer would help a lot if you did not handle instructions and you need a visual you could one just draw the airplane or you could draw out the steps and it be easier for a person that needs a visual

Two ways he can leave some instructions are by making a video on it and put it on youtube.com or he can use a computer and show his designs he can use a Microsoft word to make the instructions on a computer, And all he needs to make a video for youtube is a youtube account and a video camera.

    B. The student can see exactly how he created it if he made a video of it, And he can print the instructions out or send it to him/her it would make it a lot easier for the student to see how to make it rather than to read directions but either way the student will know what to do and will make the paper airplane.

    A. he could record all the steps on the computer and then print it out to show some one else like on Microsoft power point …. but the steps have to be clear and understandable. or you could make a video of how to do it. and if you were to post it on youtube.com you could probably teach someone who is interested in that stuff…. so either way its good idea.

    B. well if the instructions are understandable then another student can make the air plane right and not mess up on it.. and i think if you do it on a video it would be easier for the person to actually see you doing it than having to see it on paper… so i think both ways are easy but only if you do it clearly and understandable…………………

    2-the second way to use tecnology to show how to make a paper air plane is to use like a apple i pad and you can draw it out or you can print it out or maybe copy it i dont know but there is probably alot of ways to use technology to sjow and teach a person thats never heard of paper airplanes about them well theres what i think and i hope they will enjoy learning about how to make a new thing that they have just learned..

    b) making a powerpoint could help because you could put pictures and words to tell how you made it and what you will need for exmaple: put a picture of you doing the first step then tell in words what your doing.
    making a little gudie book could also help becasue some people learn but reading what they have to do it a gudie book the best think to read when you want to now how to make something you could also put pictures if you want its your chocie these are my ideas of what i think eric should do.

    A. TWO TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY HE COULD USE TO TEACH ANOTHER STUDENT HOW TO MAKE THE AIRPLANE ARE :
    1. a tape recorder
    2. a video message

    B. EACH METHOD IS GOING TO HELP THE PERSON BECAUSE:
    1. with the tape recorder you can listen to each step then do the step.
    2. WITH THE VIDEO MESSAGE YOU CAN WATCH THE PERSON AND LISTEN TO THE PERSON TO MAKE THE AIRPLANE. IF YOU GET LOST YOU CAN REWIND IT SO YOU CAN LISTEN AND WATCH WHAT HE SAYS AND DOES.

    A] I would take the wing and fold it over to the right so that it will have the space and potential to fly then i would take the other left wing and fold it to the left so it would have the potential to fly.

    B] It would help the other people make the same design airplane as me because it would be eaiser for them to understand!!

    A. Eric can use diffrent pieces of technogly. We have many things to use. But two I pick is a Computer (with internet) or he could use a fabric machine. Don’t ask why i chose the Fabric machine. But these are two I pick. The Computer (with internet) he can find diffrent information on how to make a paper air plane. Eric can go to diffrent webs such as google, bing, youtube, and other search engines. The Fabric machine could help if you had some kind of fabric. You could go to the store and get some. Using the internet get info about creating a airplane with a fabric machine. That would be so cool to me. That’s just my opinion. But these are two explantions to make a paper airplane with diffrent pieces of technolgy.

    B. Well Eric (himself) can make some kind of chart or how to piece to publish his information. I mean that’s a thing he can do. Or he could just make himself a site on telling ways to make and find how to make paper airplanes. So that’s my final answer. But there are a lot of ways he can give another student info about his creation.

    A.) Two technology methods he could use are: 1 . He could video tape himself making the airplane and be sure to explain each step.
    2. He can use a computer to type up a sheet of instructions to follow.

    B.) The video would help the person by showing a visual demonstration of the process. The viewer could do whatever the person on the video is doing. The sheet of instructions could give them step by step actions to take. If the person trying to build the plane follows every instruction then the plane should turn out fine.

    B.) Instead of writing it to where they might not be able to read it, and word document will make things a lot easier. you could also leave photo to display what you made. but you want to make sure you make good detail instructions explaining how you made it.

    A. he could get on like hot-mail or g mail and send him the instructions. or the could make a video of how do the airplane and put it on you-tube.
    B. on hot-mail he will get to read about how Eric made his airplane and try to make his the same. on you-tube he can actually see how you make the airplane and follow along with how Eric makes his airplane. and that way if he gets lost, all he has to do is rewind the video, and pause it to catch up.

    A) One way to remember how to make a paper airplane is by writing instruction listing the steps in order. Another way to remember how to make a paper airplane is to draw blue prints for one.
    B) Writing instructions will explain step by step how to make a plane. And blue prints will show how to build a paper plane by using a picture.

    A. He could use PowerPoint and put each of the steps on their own slides. He could also use Microsoft word to write and explain in detail, how exactly to make a paper airplane like his.
    B. If he used PowerPoint, it would take each of the steps and give them a whole slide. That way, he has a whole slide to describe in detail, how to do that step. If he uses Microsoft word, it would be using clear, orderly explanation (in words in bullet or numbered form) to describe each and every step.

    B) If Eric leaves pictures on the computer then the child would get a picture on how to make the paper airplane. If Eric leaves a video on hoe to make the paper airplane then the child would know how to make it just like Eric’s

    B. 1.if you recorded a video the student would just have to follow along to make the plane or watch then repeat the steps.
    2. if you wrote a manual the student would have to just read the book then create the plane or just follow the instructions.

    A. he could record the steps.or he could bulid a robot that would take someone through the steps to making an airplane

    B. if he recorded the steps then the other student could watch the video recording and make the same airplane as the steps are given on the video. if the student payed attention to the teaching robot then he would be able to build the airplane as the robot has instructed.

Two methods he can use to show someone how to make the paper airplane like he did are, One, simply make a list ordering the step by step proses from beginning to end how to make the paper airplane on a word document, also using pictures to show exactly how to fold it on each step. or two, Use a slide show with each slide being a step with a picture and a description on how to fold the paper air plane.

    B.This helps because if they fallow the steps. they will be able to make the paper airplane

    A .two methods he could use is a video camera and a step by step manual .

    B .If he used a step by step manual he will be able to look at each step as many times as he needs to and could use the pictures to help. So if this is their first time making an airplane this will be very helpful because they can look at it as long as they need to and take their time and make it the correct way.
    And if he was to use a video camera he could watch what he is doing step by step and if he was to mess up he could rewind it as much as he needs to and watch it as many times as he wants. And the video would be much easier because you can actually see what he is doing.

    A. If i was going to show someone how to make a paper plane, i would use power point, every slide would be a step to show someone how to make the plane.

    B. This would help someone a lot because all they need to do is get on the computer and look at the steps.

    B. The video could help because it shows exactly what he did. The how to article could help because it shows exactly how to make the plane but in ore detail.

    A: two different methods using technology that Eric could use to record how he made his paper airplane so that another student could make the same type of airplane are , he can make a video showing how to make a airplane and how he can do that is by going step by step for when ever someone one wants to now how to make a paper airplane they can just go on youtube and follow the steps .A second method using technology is making a list of step how to make it with a picture next to it .

    B: Each method that i described in part (A)can help another student make the same type of airplane following the same design is by looking at the video could help by showing how the steps to making a airplane. Also it can help because its your can pause it and make it go slow if you want. Then when you make it you can show it to other people or you can make a video your self and tell people how you make it .
