Recent studies have shown that kids are posting too much sensitive information online.  Many parents believe that kids are not thinking about what they say before they post it online.  Also, the pictures are too revealing and too much swearing is being shared.  Many parents are completely unaware of what kids have on their pages or what type of posts their kids make on a daily basis.

A)  If you REFLECT on social networking, Why do you think kids share so much information with complete strangers online?

B)   Social networking such as party lines and chat rooms have been around for 20 years, so how have advances in technology changed and made sites like Facebook and Myspace more interesting now?”

C)  Do you believe there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed when it comes to pictures and things said online on sites like Facebook or Myspace?   What is that line?

D)  Even though kids have been told about the number of cyber predators online, why do you think kids still put so much personal information online for everyone to see?

Myspace has tried to come back with a vengeance.  In the last week of October 2010, Myspace relaunched with the Myspace 3.0 Experience.  Where it used to be a “place for friends”, it is now a “social entertainment destination”.  This version is more streamlined, easier to read and navigate and not crazy with page design.

A)  By watching the videos below, can you analyze what is good and what is bad with the new Myspace design?

B)  How can this redesign turn into people actually coming back to myspace and making it the number 1 social networking site again?  Or can it?

C)  How does this new look of Myspace compare/contrast to Facebook?  Explain ALL of  your answers.

MySpace used to once ruled the world as the number one social media.  MySpace has vowed to become important again as they are going through a complete website RE-DESIGN on October 15th.  If you have since strayed over to Facebook or another social media website, is this possibly something that could make you come back to MySpace?  Is this a good idea?  Why or why not? What would they have to do or change or add to the website to make you come back to MySpace? (Must be at least  5 COMPLETE sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)

Has technology gotten out of hand? With so many people willing to completely tell EVERYTHING about their lives through avenues like Facebook, Twitter, Ustream and more, have we gotten out of hand with technology?  If you don’t think so, here is another device to help you tell it ALL!  The “LOOXCIE” is a wearable bluetooth/wi-fi camera that sits on your ear like a headset.  It can store 5 hours of video and will email short clips to all of your social media.  Is this a good idea?  Why or why not? Who would be interested in something like this?  Who is this being marketed towards? (Must be at least  5 COMPLETE sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)
