As we search for more ways to add functionality to our lives, Google seems to be leading the charge at how to innovate and have enhancements added to your life that you didn’t even know you needed.  Enter Google Leanback.  Google Leanback is a fun and interesting way to search YouTube videos where it feels more like channel surfing on the TV by giving you a feed (pretty much a playlist).  Being fun on your computer is one thing, but if you have internet on your TV, then it takes this to a whole new level.  Sony just released the first TV’s that come with Google TV, including leanback.  Is this just lazy of people?  Is this a service that people want or will even use? What could be a benefit or drawback of a service like this? Explain your answer.

EXPLAIN your answers. (You must use at least 5 COMPLETE SENTENCES or you will get ZERO CREDIT)

There has been a tremendous push to get more out of your time watching TV.  One of those things is the streaming set top box.  There are several versions available including some you have heard of and some you haven’t such as Apple TV, Roku, Boxee, Vudu and Western Digital TV.  Many people thought you had to connect a computer to your big screen TV but these small boxes allow you to stream movies and do some internet tasks and hook up to the TV extremely EASY.  Will these boxes catch on?  Would people rather just use their cable on-demand or continue to rent from Blockbuster and Redbox?  Why is this a great idea?  Why would it be a bad idea? Who are these marketed towards? EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWERS!  (Must be at least  5 COMPLETE sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)

Many people have moved from simply wanting to listen to music online, but wanting to see it.  One of the premier places for music videos used to be YouTube, however they formed a joint venture with VEVO (www.vevo.com) to ONLY feature music videos.  VEVO has been endorsed by many celebrities as the place to watch music, however many people still cling to YouTube and recently MTV released numbers that say more people watch videos on their site than VEVO.  Have you ever heard of or been to http://www.vevo.com?  What would it take to MAKE more people come to this site than YouTube, EVEN WHEN YOUTUBE SAYS go to VEVO? Does YouTube backing VEVO give them an advantage over MTVvideos or is it the other way around?  Why or why not?  (Must be at least  5  COMPLETE sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)

“Pop Culture has taken over America.  People are heavily influenced by what they see in the media, be it newspaper, magazine, radio, TV, movies and the internet.  The University of Baltimore is now offering a course called Zombie 101.  Why would they offer a class like this at a major university?  If  Zombies and zombie movies have been around for 50 years, how has advances in technology changed Zombies and made them more interesting now?” (You MUST write 5 sentences or you will get ZERO CREDIT)
